Description:

Potassium Dichromate dissolved in Perchloric Acid (0.001N) is a tried and true method of verifying for absorbance accuracy (photometric) as well as linearity in the UV range. Producing several characteristic peaks throughout the UV range, Potassium Dichromate enables checking at 235nm, 257nm, 313nm, 350nm and 430nm. FireflySci produces its own blend in house, derived from the NIST SRM 935a guidelines and permanently seals the contents in a fire-fused quartz cuvette.

Potassium Dichromate is specifically required by many labs conforming to European Pharmacopoeia (EP) as well as Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Validation is frequently required to be performed every 3 months or after repairs.

If periodic calibration is not required by your particular lab, we strongly recommend choosing our FUV-series solid state calibration standards, which NEVER need to be recalibrated due to material aging. With just one filter, you can check for photometric accuracy and stray light for ANY points in the range of 200-700nm.
